ooVoo
OoVoo is this new type of skype I have just found, it is much faster and a lot better than skype in my personal opinion. I use it every night and the webcam quality is not bad. OoVoo is perfect for people who are distant from each other, for instance a family member on an extended trip to other parts of the world. The reason why I like Oovoo is because it is easy and simple and works perfectly.
Even though ooVoo is behind on skype, mostly due to popularity and the fact that Skype came out first, it is still pretty good. As of now, I have had no problems with it. The internet is quick so there is no freeze frame when you are web-caming and you can still type to people as well. The sound is also very good, there is not much lag between what the person says and then the voice comes out.
Another addition to ooVoo is that you can also use it as just a plain messenger to people. You can still send files and other stuff. OoVoo isn’t only for personal uses; it can also be used for Business reasons as well. You can send bilk files, photos and other business associated things. Even hold meetings, because on Oovoo you can invite up to 6 people at one time and they all can see you.
The only thing that is probably different from Skype and ooVoo, is that ooVoo has a text box that is separate from the web cam window, so sometimes that can get a bit messy when you are trying to write a message to them and keep a view of the person at the same time.
All in all I would chose ooVoo over Skype. I have seen some people with Skype and the quality of the streamed webcam is not much like ooVoo’s and not as fast or clear. But then again, since Skype did come out first, It is in the lead over ooVoo. I hope soon more and more people will join ooVoo, so then all my messenger needs will be satisfied.
Hey thanks for Visiting

Milk Tea
Milk Tea
By human nature we are attracted to the things that are bad for us. Reason is, that human’s emotion of desire takes over us, and we desire things we can’t have, so naturally the things that we can’t have are the things bad for us. The emotion of desire is man’s downfall in humanity.
One human desire is having delicious foods to eat and enjoy. Such as Milk tea, I am extremely attracted to it. The reason being, there is A LOT of sugar in the milk tea, and I do not eat a lot of sugary foods in my daily life. In turn I drink a lot of the sugar filled tea to satisfy my craving.
Another desire for humans is fat. Fat is found on almost everything, but the reason we are attracted to it is because fat gives food a lot of its flavoring. In meat, if there is fat, it gives the meat a lot of flavor.
Happiness is also a desire people want, for most people, food gives us happiness. Food releases a chemical in the brain called dopamine which is a chemical that makes you feel happy. People are always looking for ways to make them happy, either it be good or bad for them. But even though it is good for them, too much of a good thing is bad for you. You need to have a perfect balance of everything in your life.

(deceased)
At a Funeral
Today, during school hours I went to a funeral for a good friend of mine’s mother, Eileen, who has just recently been taken from us by cancer. I didn’t know her too well, but seeing all the people there made me feel like I HAD to be there to give my friend support and prayer. Seeing all of the people mourn for her passing was very touching. It makes me wish I was able to talk to her in person.
During the mass, my friend went up to compose a song dedicated to his mother for the last time. As he played the guitar he sang “Alleluia”, his voice was just beautiful, I thought it was coming from the speakers at first, but then I realized it was him singing. Not to sound gay, but his voice was really amazing; it makes me wish I had a nice voice like him.
After he finished, his father came up. He is an elderly man now days, but as he went up he wanted everyone to listen to him and his wife’s favorite song “Have I told you that I love you”, as he said the title of the song he started to weep. It made me kind of emotional for the passing of his wife; many people were starting to break out in tears now.
After the mass people then walked outside to the cemetery to where they had reserved a spot for Eileen. I watched as people pray, cried, and placed flowers on the casket as everyone said their last goodbyes. As they did so, a small choir of Chamorro women sang a prayer I guess, in their native tongue. Once everyone said their goodbyes, they lowered the body down in to the grave and then started to cover the grave. But then, I had to leave, so I went up to my friends and also my other friend who was with him, patted them both on the shoulder and said “I’m sorry for your loss, I will pray for you and your family” and then I left.
It is raining today, so I guess the sky is weeping for the passing of Eileen.
God bless Eileen.
amen
P.s i know many people are going to read this and say "Wth? you dont go to church, well F u guys leave me be.. i know what im suppose to do, just need someone to help me get there"

Being a Gecko
Being a Gecko
I dislike the Saipan International School’s mascot, which is a Gecko. A bug eating gecko… a gecko that represents weakness in its bug eating glory. Most of my friends from other schools have more appropriate mascots, such as knights, eagles, stroms/penguins, even the lizards (there is a name for it but I have forgotten it). The only other school that probably has a lower level that SIS is the fairy turns, which is whispering palms school mascot. Most of the times I am made fun of because I am a pure bred gecko, I have really been here all my life. I wonder what that would look like on my transcript when I go to college. I am a vey social person, and I have many MANY friends from different schools that I hang out with a lot. I can’t even walk down street market without even having to hug at least 3 people that I know, or that I may have forgotten. I have also noticed a HUGE percentage of my friends are girls, it sometimes puzzles me why, but I guess I enjoy the company of girls because they are not loud and obnoxious all the time. But a lot of my friends that are guys, I’m really close with. We hang out a lot and do crazy stuff, but we are tamed. It is a lot of fun driving around with my friends and just having a good time, carrpe diem as people say.

Computers
Computers
My first computer was a Toshiba satellite, it was kind of a dated computer but it was a great reliable computer, I loved it. But that was back in 5th grade where we only had windows Xp and Microsoft word 2003 was top of the line. The battery life on that laptop was roughly 2-3 hours if I was lucky. The processor was not all that fast either. But back then I thought it was really fast, I was able to open up a web page in under 20 seconds, which was amazing back then. I spent so many hours on that computer. It was so reliable, and I never had any major problems with it.
Now I have a Asus computer. It’s a pretty nice looking computer, smaller than my previous laptop. But it has been only two years and I am already having problems. On my Asus I have Windows Vista, and I can open up a web page even faster, 10 seconds. I have Microsoft word 2007 and all these other cool applications I never had before. But the problem is that, it is not as reliable as my old computer a few years ago. I’m already having problems after two years, which is kind of disappointing.
Over the years I have watched computers jump in technology. One month they would be talking about a processor that is supposedly to make your computer faster that your previous one, and now they are talking about making an EVEN faster processor that’s even smaller than before. The rate people are coming out with new tech is amazing. Another example is, I bought this Asus computer in June, the battery life is about 2-3 hours. In July my brother got a new laptop and its battery life is 5-7 hours! And his battery is smaller than mine. His laptop is much faster and really nice.
Pretty soon I hope I will be able to upgrade my computer to a even faster one that will be much more reliable.

Sports
SPORTIFIED! This is a word I have come up with, it is a term that is applied to people who are mainstream sporty and what not. They are the people who spend 6+ hours a week doing sport related activities. I myself get about 18 hours of sports a week. Every weekday I have volleyball from 3:45- 5:30, on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have Tennis right after volleyball from when I get there at 5:30 till around 7. Then on Saturday mornings I have tennis again from 10-11:45, by then it is scorching hot. Then after relaxing for a bit on Saturday and going out at night to hang around with some friends, I wake up at 5 in the morning and get ready to go on a 4+ hour bike ride.
On these rides we go up many hills and each one we try to get faster than the other. My father has put a no excuse for missing a bike ride policy, so no matter what I have to go. He, Mr Jones and Mr Arenofski, always talk and have fun on their bike ride and then crack jokes about how fast I go up the hill and how unfair it is. They also joke on how they should strap a huge cooler on my bike so I can haul it up the hills for them and they can enjoy a nice beer at the top. I say it would give them great incentive to climb faster to get to their prize that I have them running for.
Now back to the topic, you shouldn’t try not to sportify your life like I have. It is not good, you have very little time to work, and when you do work, you are not as focused as you should be because you are so burned out from all the sports you cannot perform to the best of your abilities. This is a helpful hint for those who do sports, and don’t say I didn’t warn you.

What I do as a Biker on saipan
Here on Saipan there are many sports and activities to do, personally I like to bike. One of the biggest and most known events is the Hell of the Marianas (HOM), which takes place on December 6th. HOM is a 100 mile/ 60km bike ride around the island, which takes you up and down every major hill on Saipan. It is a lot of fun, and you get to see many people from a lot of different places. The only way I prepare for the HOM is just to train as much as I can while at the same time balancing my school work. I bike every Sunday from 6- 10 am, I try to do interval training while I’m biking, and try to beat my previous times. My route usually starts at Wild Bills in Garapan. I then bike out to Marpi and ride up Radar tower hill, which is the left hand turn right after La Fiesta, and then I bike back down and then I head to Suicide cliff. On my way I pedal, or in bikers terms, Spin, as fast as I can and keep my cadence up (how fast you are pedaling). Once I get up suicide I bike down to bird island look out, down to grotto and then back out to bonsai. By this time I am a little tired but I still push to keep my cadence up. After I do the official turn at
Bonsai I head back as fast as I can to Wild Bills. There I enjoy my delicious meal and with it I drink Endurox, which is a sports enhancement drink, to help my muscles repair themselves faster and come back stronger.

Biking on a Sunday morning
Most people would say, they would spend their Sunday morning sleeping in… But that is not going to be able to get me 500 words for this, so I will tell you about my Sunday.
My Sundays begin very early, 5 am to be exact. I wake up and get ready for a nice long bike ride. I put on my shorts and jersey and my dad drives down to either Wild Bills, or out near Marpi next to the go-cart arena. Once arrive at our appointed destination, we decide where to ride for the day. We have been recently been going the third leg of the Hell of the Marianas. Which, is down radar station, out and up to suicide, down to bird island look out, down to grotto, and out back to Bonsai, but we added an extra piece where we climb up Radar station hill in the start.
When you go up such challenging hills, it’s good to not be afraid of shifting constantly, I’m always shifting when I decide to attack a hill and speed up it as fast as I can. It takes me 20 minutes by mountain bike to get up Radar station hill, the last time I checked. But my best time was 17 minutes on my road bike, and that is a huge difference to my standards. But I can see where my 3 minutes are gained when I ride my mountain bike. One is that my mountain bike weights about 7-10 lbs heavier than my road bike. In Lance Armstrong’s book he wrote that even half a pound will make a huge difference when you are climbing up hills. Another thing is, the wheels on my road bike are much thinner and have a smaller surface area of resistance to get up those hills as well, compared to my mountain bike, which has a greater resistance surface area.
One thing that is really good to do when you are riding long distance is to keep drinking and snack a lot. An average biker can go through at least a gallon of water on a 2 hour bike ride, if I recall correctly. Snacking is also important; it doesn’t matter as long as it’s a bit healthy. When I rode with some of the most elite bikers on island, they took me on the whole hell of the Marianas one day and I came back shaking because I did not have the right amount of calories to keep me going on that ride. They said I didn’t eat enough and that next time I should just bring a bunch of power bars and gels. The gels that I prefer and the Accel Gels (bought at Brabu next to sushi land) they are very delicious and taste like candy.
That concludes my blog for today, my next post may contain more information on biking, but as of now it is time for me to go, thank you for reading.
